Terms of Service

Last updated 29 September 2026

These terms cover your use of Ascension as a coach and as an athlete. They are written so that the boundaries of the software are clear before you rely on it — including the parts it deliberately does not decide for you.

1. The service

Ascension is coaching software. A coach uses it to hold an athlete's biometrics, nutrition, training and check-ins in one place, and to review automated reasoning about that data. An athlete uses it to log their own training and nutrition, see their own progress, and talk to their coach.

Access is personal. A coach account is for one business; an athlete account is for one person, issued through an invite from their coach and bound to that coach's roster.

2. Your account

You are responsible for keeping your password to yourself. Because a password change revokes every session on the account, signing out everywhere is always available to you if you think a credential has leaked.

Do not share an account, or use one to store records for somebody who has not agreed to it. If you are a coach, you confirm you have your athlete's permission before you log biometric or health data about them.

3. Automated reasoning, not automated decisions

RIS reads the data on file and suggests a change. A suggestion is exactly that: where a finding is flagged for a second opinion, it is held and writes nothing until a coach confirms it. Nothing in the console changes an athlete's plan without a person choosing to apply it.

The reasoning is only as good as the data behind it. Gaps in a wearable sync, missed logs, and unrecorded medication all degrade it. It is decision support, not a clinician.

4. Not medical advice

Ascension does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease, and nothing it shows is medical advice. Blood-marker values are presented for discussion with a qualified professional. In an emergency, contact your local emergency number — not this software or your coach.

Any protocol, calorie target, supplementation or training change remains the responsibility of the coach and athlete who agree to it.

5. Your data

Your records belong to you. What Ascension stores, where it is stored and how to get an export or a deletion is set out in the privacy policy.

6. Acceptable use

Do not attempt to access another coach's roster or another athlete's record, probe the service for vulnerabilities without permission, or use it to store unlawful material. Sign-in and signup are rate limited; circumventing that is a breach of these terms.

7. This build

This deployment is a working demonstration. It runs on a single machine with a local database, and restoring the demo data from the settings page permanently deletes everything that had been entered. Treat it as a preview of the product, not as a system of record, unless you have agreed otherwise with us.

8. Changes

If these terms change in a way that affects what you may do or what we store, the date at the top of this page changes with it. Continuing to use Ascension after that means you accept the updated terms.
